Slovakia Plywood Plant Stabilizes Veneer Quality with Custom Wood Veneer Dryer

The factory supplies finished plywood and decorative veneers to furniture manufacturers across the EU. European buyers require strict moisture consistency, and the old wood dryer with fixed-temperature operation could not adapt to big seasonal humidity changes. The outdated drying machine often delivered veneer with uneven moisture, edge warping and color variation, which brought extra rejection risks.
The customer mainly processes beech veneer ranging from 0.8 mm to 2.0 mm. Before renovation, the unstable drying machine pushed the reject rate above 8.5%. Many batches failed EU material inspection standards. The factory needed a dependable wood veneer dryer that maintained stable drying conditions through humid summers and cold dry winters.
Our engineering team delivered a tailored wood veneer dryer with segmented hot air circulation and PLC intelligent control. Unlike ordinary drying machine models, this wood veneer dryer supports independent drying curves for dense beech veneer. It adopts low-temperature conditioning at the initial stage, uniform dehumidification in the middle stage, and moisture balancing at the final stage. Thickened insulation layers reduce heat loss, allowing the wood dryer to hold steady chamber temperature even when workshop temperature falls sharply.
After three months of full-load operation, the wood veneer dryer locked final veneer moisture steadily between 8% and 11%. The veneer reject rate dropped to 2.1%, and moisture deviation between batches was greatly reduced. The new wood veneer dryer consumes 23% less energy than the previous drying machine. The factory now passes EU certification consistently and secured several long-term plywood export contracts. The client confirmed that this precise wood veneer dryer solved their biggest quality bottleneck for European sales.
